The Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND); is responsible for entrance, admittance, residence, naturalization report and deportation of non nationals on Sint Maarten mainly dealing with;

1.Admission into Sint Maarten’s borders
2. Request for residence permit on Sint Maarten.
3. Naturalization report.
4. Police records.

These tasks have been centralized, therefore this provides a better view into and control of the entire administrative process. By centralizing the process, it makes the tasks of obtaining a permit for temporary or permanent residence and or Dutch citizenship more transparent, customer friendly and client oriented, which is ultimately what IND strives for.
