Program & Project Management
The Directorate of Programs & Projects (DPP), was established on May 1, 2004 by the Executive Council to guarantee efficiency and effectiveness in executing government programs and projects. DPP has its own responsibilities and works on behalf of and in close cooperation with the entire administrative and executive organization. DPP reports directly to the Executive Council. In addition, DPP is responsible for the connection between the government organization and financiers of programs and projects. The mission of DPP is to develop and execute a strategic policy for the government of St. Maarten.

To provide comprehensive strategic and quality policy advising; the preparation, drafting and coordination of national multi-annual development plan (National Development Plan NDP);

the preparation and advising on political administrative contacts with donors;

To safeguard sufficient qualitative program and project management for the successful realization of the medium-sized programs and projects, that are complex, risky and/or politically sensitive, as well as strategic in nature;

To develop, manage, coordinate and evaluate programs and projects in a structural manner;

To report to those responsible on an executive level on the progress and to advise about possible adjustments to programs;

To promote the quality of the performance of government;

To safeguard the acquisition of recruiting qualitative program and project funds;

To prepare financing requests;

To maintain contact with donors.
