Every first Tuesday of the month, new employees are invited to take their oath during a special ceremony organized by the Island Secretariat in collaboration with the department of Personnel & Organization. During this ceremony welcoming words are presented by the Island Secretary, the Governor and the Commissioner of Personnel Affairs. After taken the Oath civil servants are presented with an employee handbook and are introduced to the rest of the members of the Executive Council.
