Welcome Words

Welcome to the digital front office of the Island Secretariat, the nerve center of the government organization.
The island secretariat coordinates and facilitates the flow of information from the various sectors and departments of government, i.e. the operational and support functions of the civil service apparatus, with the political administration, both legislative and executive branches.  The wealth of information from the civil service is critical in terms of advising the political leadership.
By means of this website, exchange and processing of critical information will be made more efficient and productivity can be enhanced in the interest of the users of the system and ultimately in the general interest of the citizens of St.Maarten.
For public at large, you are invited to browse the website to learn more about the specific functioning, mission and vision of the island secretariat as well as the greater government organization. Of particular interest is the constitutional transformation. This evolutionary process will have a major impact of the structure and functioning of the government civil service.
This website is a first step in that process as the public is granted greater access to government information regarding the activities within the various areas of government responsibility as well as providing a portal for the public to interact with government by means of submitting complaints and reports.
Government’s website, sintmaartengov.org, will evolve over time as information and functionality is added.
