​The Civil Registry Department (Burgerzaken) is responsible for maintaining all the personal data for the population of Sint Maarten. You can contact this municipal department for products containing your personal data. Products such as driving license, an extract from the Basic Administration, registration form, the registry of births, acknowledgements, deaths, marriages and divorces.
 
The Department of the Civil Registry is also responsible for organizing elections on Sint
Maarten.

Due to the high demand of queries from the general public concerning this issue of registering and de-registering in the basic administration system, we hereby would like to provide this part of legislation that governs that issue, it has been translated to the English language.

The general public is hereby informed that as of December 4th, 2017, the Civil Registry Department will no longer be accepting walk-in services.

All services rendered will be on appointment basis only; this includes registration forms as well.

Citizens are advised to check the validity of their documents including that of their children. It is suggestion to make an appointment within three (3) months of expiration.
