Hurricane Shelter Rules
In the event of a hurricane strike, persons who will seek safety in a shelter must follow and abide by the following information provided.
- Wear a (face) mask at all times (optional)
- Practice social distancing (keep at a safe distance)
- Cover your mouth, nose with a tissue or your elbow when coughing or sneezing
- Clean and disinfect frequently used surfaces and objects
- Avoid close contact with persons who might be sick
- Wash your hands with soap and water for atleast 20 seconds. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol to clean hands.
- Weapons, alcohol and drugs are not allowed
- No obscene language
- No stealing or destruction of property
- No cooking in the shelter
- No smoking
- No sexual activity
- No pets or animals allowed in the shelter
- Keep your area clean at all times
- Guests must be dressed appropriately at all times
- Keep your valuables with you at all times
- Cell phone usage must not violate quiet area and lights out rules
- Follow any instruction given buy the shelter management team
Shelters will be managed by law enforcement and military officials to ensure order and smooth operations

Medical and Special Needs Support
Inform shelter staff of any critical medical conditions upon arrival

- Shelters do not accept pets
