The Government of Sint Maarten congratulates the Department of Communication (DCOMM), under the Ministry of General Affairs, on diligently coordinating the revamping of our Government website, www.sintmaartengov.org. This revamped site, was launched on Monday, July 31, 2023, and marked a significant milestone in our journey towards a more modern and responsive government.
Since its initial launch in July 2010, our Government website has evolved significantly. With updates in 2014 and 2018, it has continuously strived to keep up with the evolving digital landscape. With the newly unveiled and overhauled site, the government is taking a giant leap forward, making it more service-oriented, interactive, and user-friendly.
The new website offers a sleek and modern design, enabling citizens to easily access government services and information; making appointments and services more seamless, and putting the power in the hands of our people. It will be mobile-friendly, ensuring accessibility for everyone, anytime, and anywhere.
“This digital enhancement of e-governance is a crucial step forward as we work to bring our government closer to the people it serves. It exemplifies our commitment to transparency, efficiency, and effectiveness in delivering public services. It aligns perfectly with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 9, Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. Digitalization plays a critical role in achieving various targets under this goal, such as expanding access to information and communication technologies (ICTs), promoting research and development in technological fields, and enhancing connectivity in both developed and developing countries.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been involved in this transformative project. The dedication and hard work of our public servants and technology partners have made this achievement possible.” Said Prime Minister Jacobs.
The Government will continue to make progressive strides in e-governance and leverage digital solutions to create a better future for Sint Maarten. Together, we will build a more resilient and prosperous nation that thrives in the 21st century.
